Castillo spent his early years in Los Angeles before moving to Dallas, Texas, at the age of twelve. Growing up, he was fascinated by the power of media advertising, from eagerly anticipating commercial breaks during television shows to his fascination with movie trailers and billboards.[2] This early exposure fueled his passion for media and content creation. By the age of ten, Castillo was already experimenting with content creation using his family's VHS camera, producing comedy skits and other video content with his siblings.[3]
Castillo's educational journey began at the School of Business and Management at Townview, where he focused on Entrepreneurship and Small Business, as well as Marketing and Marketing Management from 2005 to 2009. His coursework laid the groundwork for his future endeavors in media buying and marketing strategy. Following his graduation from Townview, Castillo furthered his studies at Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology between 2009 and 2013. During his time at Texas Tech, he was deeply involved in various activities and societies, including the Secular Society, Texas Tech Chi Psi (ΨΧ), and PEGASUS.

Castillo's professional journey began in the commercial printing sector, where he gained insights into the challenges businesses face in sourcing new service providers. This experience led to the conceptualization of the Service-as-a-Product (SaaP) model with his business partner, which was integral to the foundation of Altered State Productions in 2017. Castillo has played a crucial role in diversifying the agency's services to include a broad spectrum of digital marketing solutions and media production services.[4] By March 2021, Castillo further broadened his expertise as a media marketing specialist with Sandbox VR, focusing on cryptocurrency and immersive advertising.[5]
