Ameet Mirpuri (born on August 20, 1979) is an interior designer and entrepreneur from Visakhapatnam, India.[1] He founded Design Studio and was awarded as the ‘best designer’ for hospitality design in 2018 at IIID awards for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Personal life[edit]

Ameet was born on August 20 in 1979 in Visakhapatnam to Prem and Komal Mirpuri. He has a younger sister who resides in Dallas, Texas (USA). He studied BBM from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management University and did his diploma in interior designing from Maratawada Mitra Mandal School of Interior Design, Pune.[2] After a Degree in Bachelors Business Administration from GITAM University, he moved to Pune to study at Marathwada Mitra Mandal School of Interior Design.[3] Post a design internship, he moved back to Visakhapatnam to join his family business of interior designing.[4]

Career[edit]

Ameet started Design Studio in the year 2006 from the garage of his house and then moved to a small space within his father’s showroom, Eastern Art Museum. By 2010 Design Studios had its own premises in Visakhapatnam with 30 employees working in the design and administrative wings of the company.[5] His first big break was in 2010 being part of the design team for Novotel in Visakhapatnam.[6] With a team of 26 employees, he has designed cafes, lounges, hotels, boutiques, spas, and Luxury Villas and homes all over the country.
