Mahant Narendra Giri was one of the India's most influential Hindu seers. In 2014, He was elected as the head of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad and was re-elected in 2019. On September 20, 2021 he was found hanging from a fan in his room in Allahabad's Baghambari Math. The police found a suicide note in which he is said to have blamed a disciple named Anand Giri with whom he was embroiled in a property tussle.[1]
