Rizwan Sajan is UAE-based Non-Resident Indian billionaire businessman and the founder of Danube Group.[1][2] He has appeared in the Forbes Middle East’s list of Top 100 Indian leaders in the UAE.[3][4]

Early life[edit]

Rizwan was born to a lower-middle-class family in Mumbai, Maharashtra,[5] and started his career as a street vendor to support his family. After his father's death, at the age of 18, Sajan received an opportunity to work at his uncle's building materials shop in Kuwait. This opportunity marked the beginning of his journey into the business world, although the Gulf War in 1991 forced him to return to Mumbai.[6][7]

Career[edit]

Rizwan Sajan is known as the founder and chairman of Danube Group, a conglomerate consisting of various subsidiaries.[8] Forbes Middle East included him in the list of "Top 100 Indian leaders in the UAE, As per Gulf News he played a key role in introducing the Filmfare Awards to the Middle East.[9] In 2021 he announced residential tower 'Fashionz' in collaboration with FashionTV,[10] later they also started middle east's largest indoor sports facility Danube Sports World.[11]

Philanthropy[edit]

He has donated AED 5 million towards the UAE Government's 1 Billion Meals Endowment Initiative.[12] Sajan is the driving force behind Danube Welfare Center, which works to help unskilled workers improve their skills and allow them to develop their careers.[13]
