Samir Jain (born 11 March 1954) is an Indian publisher and the current Vice-Chairman of media group Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd.. Jain belongs to the Sahu Jain family which owns Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd., the parent company of The Times of India and other large newspapers.[1]

Career[edit]

In 1975 Samir joined the family-owned Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. as a junior executive.[2] By 1982, Samir was vice-chairman and running the company as his father Ashok Jain, pursued by charges of fraud and suffering from a weak heart, departed to the United States for medical treatment.[2] During Samir's time, Times of India has become the largest circulating English newspaper in the world.[3][4][5][6]
